Beyond Us

Now and in the future, all of the Community Groups in our program will be assigned the task of developing a portion of the required funds to provide for the children they support, themselves!  During each year of the program, the Community Group will be required to take on more and more of the financial responsibility of the program.  The first year NR will fully support the program with 100% of the required finances to run the program.  During that first year, the Community Group will need to establish one, if not more, “Community Projects” that will in turn raise financial support for the next year.  The second year, the group will be required to support the program with 25% of their own funds, developed from their Community Project(s).  The third year, they will need to provide the program with 50% of the project budgeted funds.

If the Group is successful in meeting all the financial requirements, coupled with the program requirements for the children, then NR will consider them for a “Sustainable Project”.  The Group will have up to two years to develop their Sustainable Project.  This project must be capable of generating enough funding for the group to continue their work, without receiving funds from NR or other organizational sources.

One of our previous successful groups selected the purchase of a large event rent and chairs to rent out for local weddings, funerals, and community events.  NR committed 50% of the funds required to purchase the items as the Group raised the other 50%.  To date, the Group has successfully developed this project from the rental of this one tent, in to two tents.  They are now expanding their program and their support to the orphans and vulnerable children in their community.
